Who is responsible
Yalma Studio (Yannick Lanteri, sole proprietor, avenue Raoul Dufy, 06200 Nice, France) is the controller for the processing described here. Any question: contact@yalma-studio.fr.
This policy covers the Enkete mobile app and this website.
In short
- The game works entirely without an account, without ads and without ad trackers.
- Your progress, photos, notes and messages stay on your phone.
- Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details.
- Only if you agree (“Help improve the investigations”), the app sends anonymous progress measurements so we can improve the puzzles.
What stays on your phone
Saves, settings, photos taken in the game and everything you write (emails, notes, texts, free searches, final report) are stored on the device only. Progress reminders are notifications scheduled locally. None of this is sent.
Camera and location are only requested if a case needs them. The photo and your position stay on the device.
Improvement measurements (optional)
What is sent, with your consent:
- a random identifier created by the app on this device, linked neither to your identity nor to an advertising identifier, and a playthrough identifier;
- game events: case viewed, started, resumed or finished; steps solved; hints requested; play time; code or answer attempts in a normalised form of at most 32 characters (codes and answer words, never your free text); game content opened; answers to optional permissions; technical errors;
- technical context: app version, system (iOS or Android) and its version, chosen phone style, game language, realistic mode.
What is never sent
Name, email address, contacts, photos, location, device name, advertising identifier, the content of your emails, notes, texts or report.
Why these measurements: to spot puzzles that are too hard or poorly signposted and rewrite the cases. No ads, no profiling, no resale, no cross-app tracking.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR article 6.1.a). It is off until you answer, and can be changed at any time in Settings.
Hosting: Neon (database), servers in Frankfurt, in the European Union. Your IP address is used to carry the data but is not stored in our measurement database.
Retention: 25 months, then automatic deletion.
In-app purchases
Paid cases are bought through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), which collect payment under their own privacy policies. We have no access to your name, email address or payment details.
To verify and restore your purchases, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States), which receives: a random identifier created by the app (unrelated to your identity and to the measurement identifier above), your Enkete purchase history (product, date, price, store country, store transaction identifiers) and technical context (app version, system). This data is used only to give you access to what you bought.
Legal basis: performance of the sales contract (GDPR article 6.1.b). Transfer outside the EU: RevenueCat processes this data in the United States, under the safeguards provided by the GDPR. Retention: as long as the purchase exists, so it can be restored.
This website
This website sets no cookies, does not measure its audience and contains no trackers. Fonts and video are served from the site itself.
Its host, Vercel Inc. (United States), processes technical logs (IP address, browser, requested page) to serve pages and protect the site against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and securing the site (GDPR article 6.1.f). Transfer outside the EU under the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Your rights
Turning off “Help improve the investigations” in Settings stops sending and deletes the measurements already sent under the device identifier; a new identifier is created if you turn the option back on. Since these measurements are linked to no identity information, we cannot find them any other way: deletion is therefore done from the app. After uninstalling, the identifier disappears with the app and measurements already sent can no longer be linked to anyone.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. To exercise them: contact@yalma-studio.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority in your country.
This policy may change along with Enkete; the date at the top of the page identifies its version.
